Registration by Exam
The National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), provides the professional examination in interior design.

After meeting the qualifications to take the examination, candidates must complete an application and pay the application fee. The applicant can choose to do this online by logging in to his or her personal account, or offline by mailing the application and payment to TBAE:
- To apply online to take the exam, applicants should create an account and provide the requested information.
- Applicants who choose to apply offline can contact the Board Office and request that TBAE mail the application to them.
Rule 5.35(a): A properly submitted application for registration by examination will be effective for three years from the date it is received by the Board. After three years, the Board may require the Applicant or Candidate to update the application or reapply.
