Registration by Reciprocity

Please refer to Rule 5.32 and Rule 5.33 to review the requirements and application procedures for interior design registration by reciprocal transfer.

Application

Individuals holding certificates of registration in other jurisdictions applying for registration in Texas by reciprocal transfer shall be considered upon submittal of an Application and Certificate of Standing.

Fees

There is an application fee for reciprocity and a separate fee for initial registration by reciprocity (see the Fee Schedule for the fees). You must include the reciprocal application fee when you submit your application. The fee for initial registration by reciprocity is due only after you have been tentatively approved for registration. Please do not send this fee until you receive the tentative approval letter.

• To apply and pay the application fee online, create an account and provide the requested information.
• If you do no wish to apply online, you may download and complete the attached TBAE Application and Certificate of Standing. Return the following items to TBAE:
  • Completed application
  • Certificate of Standing
  • Certified transcript
  • Application fee (made payable to TBAE)
  • Proof of legal status

The Certificate of Standing should be sent to and completed by your state board.
