Registered Interior Designers

Due to a recent change in the law (SB 1932), eligibility requirements to become a Texas Registered Interior Designer (RID) have changed. Under the new law in effect now, anyone who has passed the NCIDQ exam may be eligible for registration. While we update our rules and procedures to conform to the new statutory language, we encourage those seeking registration under the new law to call Jackie Blackmore at 512-305-8527 to learn more. How to Apply

Individuals may apply for licensure as a registered interior designer in Texas by two methods:

Individuals who have forfeited their registration may, under certain conditions, apply for reinstatement of their registration.

The mission of the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (TBAE) is to serve the State of Texas by protecting and preserving the health, safety, and welfare of the Texans who live, work, and play in the built environment through the regulation of the practice of architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design.
