Landscape Architectural Registration by Reciprocal Transfer

Please refer to Rule 3.22 and Rule 3.23 to review the requirements and application procedures for landscape architectural registration by reciprocal transfer.

You may apply for reciprocal registration in Texas by one of the two methods listed below. If you have your CLARB record transmitted to TBAE, it is not necessary to complete the Direct Application mentioned below.

By CLARB Certificate or Council Record

Individuals holding certificates of registration in other jurisdictions applying for registration in Texas by reciprocal transfer shall be considered upon transmittal of their CLARB record. All arrangements for development of the CLARB record will be the responsibility of the applicant. You may contact CLARB in Fairfax, VA at (571) 432-0332.

Visit the CLARB Web site to request transmittal of your CLARB record and then go on-line to pay your reciprocal application fee.

By Direct Application to TBAE

Individuals holding certificates of registration in other jurisdictions applying for registration in Texas by reciprocal transfer shall be considered upon submittal of an application and Certificate of Standing.

The following items should be sent to TBAE:

  • Completed application
  • Certified transcript
  • Application fee (made payable to TBAE)
  • Proof of legal status

The Certificate of Standing should be sent to and completed by the base state board and forwarded directly to TBAE

Fees:

There is an application fee (see the Fee Schedule for the reciprocal application fees) for registration by reciprocity. If you use the direct application form, you must include the reciprocal application fee when you submit your application.

If you submit your CLARB record as application for reciprocal registration, you will be contacted by TBAE when your record is received. At that time, TBAE will request payment of the reciprocal application fee.

There is a separate fee for initial registration (see the Fee Schedule for the reciprocal registration fees). This fee is due only after you have been tentatively approved for registration. Please do not send this fee until you receive the tentative approval letter.
